Privacy policy

What HimTrek keeps about you, why, and how to delete it. Last updated 8 November 2026.

Who runs HimTrek

HimTrek is run by Sidharth Kapoor in India. For anything about your data, write to support@himtrek.live.

What HimTrek keeps

  • Your email address, to sign you in. It is never shown to other people.
  • Your name and profile picture from Google, only if you sign in with Google, and the name you choose to show others.
  • Your stamps: which place, when, the photo you took there, your note, and how far you were from the place when you unlocked it.
  • How accurate your phone's location reading was at each unlock.
  • What you do in the app: places you save or pin, posts you share, likes, reports, reels you send and votes.
  • Your settings, such as whether you appear on the leaderboard.

Your location

HimTrek asks for your location only while the app is open, to show how far you are from a place and to check that you have reached it. Your position is sent to HimTrek's server only when you press unlock. The server works out how far you are and then keeps only that distance and the accuracy of the reading, never the position itself. HimTrek does not track you in the background and never shares your live location.

Your photos

Every photo is re-saved by HimTrek when you upload it. This removes the hidden details phones put inside photos, including where the photo was taken. Your stamp photos are private. Other people see one only if you post it to the feed, and you can take it off the feed at any time. A photo you add when pinning a new place is seen only by the people who review that place.

Why HimTrek uses it

To run the game you asked to use: signing you in, checking you reached a place, keeping your passport, showing your posts, and stopping abuse. HimTrek does not sell your data, does not show ads, and does not use your data to build an advertising profile.

Services that handle it

  • Railway hosts the app, its database and the photos. Its servers may be outside India.
  • Resend sends the sign-in emails, so it receives your email address.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • OpenFreeMap serves the map pictures. Like any website, it sees your device's internet address when your phone loads them.
  • YouTube and Instagram play the reels. They only receive anything when a reel is shown, and their own privacy rules then apply.

Cookies and storage on your phone

HimTrek uses one cookie to keep you signed in. It also stores your choice of look and a copy of screens you opened, so the app works with weak signal. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long it is kept

Your data is kept while you have an account. When you delete your account it is removed from HimTrek straight away. Any copies in server backups are removed when those backups expire. The server briefly keeps internet addresses in memory to stop abuse; they are not stored.

Delete your account

In the app: open Settings, choose Delete my account and type DELETE to confirm. If you cannot sign in, email support@himtrek.live from the address you use for HimTrek and ask for your account to be deleted. It will be done within 7 days.

Deleting removes:

  • your account, email and name
  • your stamps and all their photos, including posts on the feed
  • your likes, reports, votes and saved places
  • places you pinned that were not yet approved, and reels you sent that were not published

Places you pinned that were approved stay on the map for others, without your name or photo. Reels that were published stay, without your name. Deletion cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can see most of your data in the app, correct your name in settings, and delete your account at any time. To ask for a copy of your data, or to raise a concern, write to support@himtrek.live. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Age

HimTrek is meant for people aged 18 and over.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
